Saint Thomas Aquinas College strives to develop in its students a strong character based upon the timeless teachings of the Catholic Church. The College does this by encouraging a profound knowledge and love of the traditional Catholic Faith, in an atmosphere of discipline motivated by fraternal charity. This is fostered by love of the liturgy, the practice of traditional devotions and love for the acquisition of knowledge in a spirit of academic excellence. In this way we equip our students to become practical members of the Church and productive members of the society in which they live. By these means the College is committed to assisting parents with their duty of returning the souls of their children to God. The College was founded in 1997 and is a co-educational School from Preparatory to Year 12. Based on sixteen acres in a rural setting in Tynong, it offers principally academic subjects with an emphasis on Latin and French and has a well developed special needs and learning difficulties programme. The College has achieved admirable academic results; sports excellence in Cricket as State champions in consecutive years; repeated success in regional debating competitions and music eiseddfods; and takes an active part in local Tynong community activities.
