Aberfoyle Hub R-7 School, located 20km from the Adelaide CBD, strives for excellence, fosters creativity and provides broad learning experiences for all. Collaboration and adhering to our values of respect, relationships/friendships and responsibility underpin all that we do. We have a significant emphasis on Reception to Year 7 literacy and numeracy programs which are complemented by music, Spanish, PE and sustainability programs. All classrooms and computer suites are linked to the internet. Other special features include interactive whiteboards, access to laptops via wireless network, and a multimedia lab. A broad range of literacy and numeracy resources exist on the network. A wide variety of extra-curricular opportunities is provided including Pedal Prix, Festival of Music, out-of-school sports, instrumental music and choirs. The local community has input via an active governing council which takes a key role in fundraising, oversight of grounds and facilities, staffing the canteen, OSHC and policy development and review. We encourage the active involvement of parents/caregivers, volunteers/mentors and Christian support pastoral worker in all classroom programs, resource centre and extra-curricular activities to help support all students learning in both mainstream classes and two special classes. Student voice is a highly valued part of our school culture. Our Student Representative Council is very active by being involved in making decisions that impact on both learning and whole-school events.
