St Bede's Primary School provides quality Catholic education for the children of Braidwood and its surrounding district. In partnership with our parents, we have created a Christ centred community based on the values of openness, love, respect, justice and peace. All are encouraged to achieve their personal best and everyone's effort is celebrated and encouraged. Students are recognised as unique and our inclusive environment supports this. St Bede's is a Kidsmatter school promoting student well being. The Bounce Back Resiliency program is now firmly embedded in our school routine. Teaching and learning is focused on the key areas of literacy and numeracy. Daily fitness is an integral part of our routine and students represent the school in a variety of sporting arenas up to state level. Besides our regular classroom routines, students are exposed to a specialist library, music and physical education lessons weekly. Extracurricular activities offered to our students include music lessons, gardening, drama workshops, sporting gala days and singing. Parent and community involvement is a high priority and St Bede's is represented in many annual events in the local region. St. Bede's strives to give back to the community that supports it. NAPLAN results in 2011 provide direction for staff development into the future. Significant individual growth was recorded by a number of students. School growth was evident across some areas of testing however spelling and numeracy are areas the school is committed to improving. We continue to implement programs that support literacy, particularly spelling across the school. While our community can be pleased with these results, we continue to strive for all students to achieve both individually and collectively into the future.
