Created in 1982, Chrysalis Steiner School in the beautiful Thora Valley, near Bellingen, New South Wales, is registered by the NSW Board of Studies. Founded on the educational philosophy of Rudolf Steiner ,with approximately 175 students in classes from Kindergarten to Class 8, Chrysalis is an active member of our peak professional body, the Rudolf Steiner Schools Association of Australia (RSSA). Our special aim is to educate the whole person intellectually, artistically, socially and morally, developing each student's innate self-discipline and strength of body and will. The core values of the school encourage all students to feel valued, cared for and important members of our school community. Students are encouraged to meet the level of responsibility appropriate for their age and stage of development. Some unique features of the school include the Class Teacher period (Years 1 to 8) where the class teacher builds a close relationship with students and families over the years; the outdoor camp program starting in Class 1; our innovative music program and the creative way of delivering our curriculum through the main lesson, which awakens the child's interest and holds their concentration through stories, practical experiences, and developing relevant life skills.
