Spotswood Primary is one of 18 schools in the Hobson’s Bay network of schools in the Western Metropolitan Region of Melbourne. It is situated on Melbourne Road, Spotswood within the northern boundary of the City of Hobsons Bay. Our school has a P-6 enrolment of 120 students. This school has a workforce of 11.5 equivalent full- time staff, 1 Principal class, 7 teachers and 5 Education Support Staff. Our purpose is to create a caring and dynamic learning environment where mutual respect and cooperation are valued and students are inspired to reach their full potential. We are focused on delivering a comprehensive learning program to our students which prepares them to be independent learners and active and positive citizens. We are proud of our strong culture of community at Spotswood and recognise the postive impact this has on student engagment, wellbeing and learning outcomes. Our school has worked closely with the network to develop an ongoing strategy of school wide improvement based on the Blueprint for Education & Early Childhood Development, which outlines the Governments' actions to provide every student with access to a high quality education, regardless of their background or location. The 2010 School Performance Summary for our school provides us with some encouraging feedback about achievements in delivering positive outcomes for our students. At the same time it does highlight some areas where we have to maintain a strong improvement focus.
