Our vision is that at St Michael's School, we share in the mission of Christ by being an integral part of the Deniliquin Parish Community of the Wilcannia-Forbes Diocese. We recognise the individuality and dignity of the whole person and support the fundamental role of the family in the fostering of both Catholic and educational ideals. We achieve our mission by providing students with regular opportunities to learn and celebrate their beliefs in God and by supporting the school community in their development of a lifelong growth in faith. We ensure we work in partnership with the parish and wider community and encourage communication, promoting and encouraging parental participation. A Parish-based Playgroup has been succefully introduced to strengthen the links between the school, parish and community. The school plays an important part in the community by participating in events such as the Anzac Day March and community celebrations. We promote the development of the whole person and provide a safe, healthy and happy environment. Each class was provided with access to a garden bed and learning opportunities to maximise this approach to teaching and learning. We foster cultural awareness and understanding and provide a challenging curriculum. We establish effective communication with parents and facilitate their involvement fostering student awareness and response to social justice issues. St Michael's has implemented varied significant programs that support student learning and development. St Michael's supports both students and teachers with the specialist roles of Learning Support Teacher and Information Communication Technology Teacher ensuring an innovative and tailored curriculum. Students participate in sporting and community events and competitions. Every student at St Michael's has the opportunity to be involved in sport and participate in Diocesan, Inter-diocesan and State Carnivals.
