Clergate Public School is located in a beautiful rural setting 12 km north of Orange. It is a small school boasting large results. The school caters for families from local farms and children from across Orange. The 48 students are in two classes, K to Y2 and Y3 to Y6. In 2011 our projected enrolment is 60 students, enabling the formation of a third class. Each student has a tailored program to suit their needs and a personal computer to support their learning. Our rooms have interactive whiteboards, connected classroom technology and are fully air conditioned. Our primary focus is on Literacy, Numeracy, Performing Arts and Environmental Studies. Our passionate staff, which includes specialist art, dance, music and technology teachers, 'go the extra mile' to ensure the success of each child for their future. The small class sizes ensure one on one mentoring. Clergate Public School offers a pre-school facility with a 'Transition to Kindergarten Program' which runs each Tuesday all year. Clergate also offers a 'Little Learners' playgroup each Wednesday morning for 0-4 year-olds and an Active After School Community Care program one afternoon per week. The school has outstanding playground and sporting facilities, covered learning areas and a well resourced library, hall and learning centre. Students are encouraged to participate in local and state performing arts initiatives, sporting teams, carnivals and community based ceremonies with impressive results. Our P&C plays a major role in our school, actively contributing to school programs, organising events, fundraisers and working bees.
