Malak Primary School is located in the Darwin suburb of Malak. Students come from diverse cultural backgrounds with a significant number of Indigenous and English as a Second Language (ESL) families. The ESL families represent a wide range of South East Asian cultures. The ESL program in the school provides a secure, language-rich, stimulating learning environment that reflects the multicultural nature of the school. Malak Primary School has specialist teachers in English as a Second Language (ESL), Information and Communication Technology, Foreign Language and Music. The school has special programs and initiatives to support holistic learning that include Foreign Languages, Drumline music program, ICT teaching/learning program, QuickSmart? numeracy, Homework Centre and Reading A-Z, and a specialist learning program for students identified with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
