Spencer Public School is welcoming and friendly, with a proud tradition of excellent education delivered by a team of dedicated teachers. As a member of the Priority Schools Program we work towards improving the academic achievement of our students by providing a strong focus on quality teaching and learning in the priority areas of literacy and numeracy. This is complemented by our involvement in many educational initiatives that challenge and extend learning and encourage a high level of student engagement. One example of a successful student-centred program is the fortnightly publication of the school newspaper, 'The Spencer Sun'. Each publication is managed by an editorial team with all students contributing an article. This newspaper is then distributed to the wider community. Our school culture nurtures individuality and leadership. All students have the opportunity to co-ordinate, or volunteer for school, community and environmental projects which include bush regeneration and special community events. We also have a highly successful record of ongoing involvement in cross-curricular projects and competitions such as Gosford City Council's Greenhouse Program, NRMATechnopush.
