St Mary's Primary School is situated in the rural town of Echuca. St Mary's enrols over 340 students from Echuca, Moama and surrounding areas, being the only Catholic primary school. The school was established in 1887 by the Brigidine Order of nuns supported by the Augustinian priests. The school maintains a strong commitment to the original charisms of both orders in providing an education for all who seek to support the philosophy, values and aims of Catholic education within the spirit of a faith community. The school was completely relocated, beginning at our new site in 2009. The school is proud of its modern facilities, flexible learning areas and exciting spaces in which the students can play. The school provides a great number of opportunities for its students to develop their capabilities across a wide range of academic, artistic and physical domains, with the fostering of the performing arts as a focus. Pastoral care, and social and emotional learning for students, are highlighted through the KidsMatter framework which the school has embraced. Parents are involved in our school in many ways including School Board representation and Parents and Friends group.
