Jerrys Plains Public School is a small rural school, 38 km north-west of Singleton in the lower Hunter Valley. We pursue academic excellence and support positive behaviours for learning and the building of relationships. We encourage all students to be actively involved in decision-making and foster independence. We provide relevant, challenging and interesting educational programs with the benefit of additional support personnel to enable students to become lifelong learners. Some unique features of the school are a Language Enhancement project which involves a Speech Pathologist being employed at the school one day per week and strong community partnerships. The school also participates in Cattle Judging, Choir and Environmental programs, including the growing of fruit trees and vegetable gardens. The school has strong links with neigbouring small schools, linking together to participate in sporting, cultural and academic initiatives. The school also boasts an active Student Representative Council and School Parliament. We have excellent sporting facilities and participate in the 'Good for Kids, Good for Life' initiative to promote awareness of health and fitness. Support for individuals is given priority to enhance the learning potential of each child.
