Gardenvale Primary School continues to build on its tradition and outstanding reputation within the wider community. Our dual campus environment for our 600 students provides a small school environment with a Prep to Year 2 Junior and Years 3 to 6 Senior Campus. Our goal as a high performing learning community is the achievement of excellence in a happy, secure and stimulating environment built on the foundation of our Core Values (developed by our school community) and our over-arching Student Well-Being programs. Students use a structured inquiry model to develop key concepts, big ideas and ask essential questions. Teachers explore students current understandings of a topic and then provide challenging and engaging experiences to allow them to make connections and develop deeper levels of understanding. The schools curriculum plan, including our Expert in Residence Program, builds our students skills and concepts by helping them make connections between life in school, at home and in the wider community. Our sequential thinking curriculum develops students thinking strategies, questioning skills and uses graphic organisers to allow our students to become creative, dynamic thinkers. Information Technology, including the use of Interactive Whiteboards, is embedded in the teaching and learning programs of all classrooms. We ensure students have the confidence to achieve and reach their full potential through innovative, high quality core and enrichment learning experiences and extra curricula activities, complemented by extensive learning intervention programs enhanced by Literacy & Numeracy Aides. We provide a range of leadership opportunities for students at all Levels. All Year 6 students are involved in a leadership team that works together to benefit all our students, the school and the wider community.
