Our Holy Redeemer School, Surrey Hills, was established over 90 years ago by the Sisters of St Joseph. The children are part of a community environment in which they are supported to grow, learn and succeed. There is considerable parent involvement in the school through fund-raising, social events and parental involvement in the classrooms, which is highly valued. Our Holy Redeemer offers: a Christian environment in the Catholic tradition; smaller classes to enhance learning; a before and after school care program run onsite; a small, friendly school where achieving one's best is encouraged; a yearly 2-week intensive swimming program; thinking activities that are incorporated into the inquiry learning units being investigated from Prep to Year 6; a yearly camping program (for Years 4 to 6); a school band which encourages children to display their musical talents; and a balance between the best of tried and proven teaching methods and modern research into how children learn best.
