Ormond Primary School has a current enrolment of 389 students. The school is situated in the inner south-east of Melbourne. The school facilities include a mix of traditional and contemporary learning areas which enable a full range of programs for all students. The school is proud of its strong community links, home-school patrnerships, aspirational culture and vibrant educational programs. The school is organized into sixteen single-year level classes with either two or three classes at each level. All students participate in regular specialist classes in Physical Education, Visual Arts, Information & Communication Technologies and Korean. A Reading Recovery program is offered to eligible Year 1 students. All students learn Performing Arts as a class-based program focussing on dance, drama, cultural performances, singing and music. Students regularly showcase their achievements through a range of programs such as performing arts soirees; student-led conferences; Heart, Hand & Mind presentations: Korean cultural days and visual arts expos. Student leadership skills are developed progressively with a Buddies Program, Peer Support Program and an extensive Student Leadership Program with School Captains, House Captains and captaincies in The Environment, The Arts, Information & Communication Technologies and The Community and Junior School Council.
