St Mary's is a Catholic co-educational primary school with a proud history of service to the Moruya district dating back 160 years. Our school motto, 'In All Things May God Be Glorified' resonates within our community. The school achieves its mission by creating a learning environment that is Christ-centred and prides itself on the individual care it provides to its students. Our personal approach with each family is central to our mission and these partnerships between families and the school are paramount. A unique feature of the school is the close links which exist with St Bernard's, Batemans Bay and Carroll College, Broulee to create a K- 12 Pathway for Catholic Education on the South Coast. The school plays an important role in the community by supporting local events and initiatives, and being a visible contributor to the richness of Moruya township and surrounds. The school community continues to grow with a current student population of 190. St Mary's strives for excellence in all facets of learning, focusing on the teaching of literacy and numeracy across the curriculum. 2011 NAPLAN results showed some positive results, particularly in the area of Numeracy with Year 5 achieving the most growth in all NSW Archdiocesan schools. Year 5 performed considerably better than the states’ results in most areas of Numeracy and Literacy. Areas for improvement include the under-representation of students in the top bands, Year 3 results in Numeracy and the school’s results in Reading.
