Sacred Heart Catholic School, Ulverstone was established in 1889 by the Sisters of St Joseph. The school logo which proudly bears the words 'Grow in Love' provides an umbrella under which parents, staff and students live and work together in the hope of achieving our mission and vision as a Catholic school, while at the same time valuing our rich Joesphite charism and history. Catering for a co-educational student base from K to 6, Sacred Heart Catholic School continues the goals of Catholic Education; to foster a Christian community in which a belief in the message of Jesus Christ is encompassed in a balanced, quality education. The school is part of the Archdiocesan system of schools administered by the Tasmanian Catholic Education Office in Hobart. Central to the school's learning program is a strong emphasis on the development of sound literacy and numeracy skills. The curriculum also supports the development of knowledge and skills in many other learning areas including LOTE (Japanese) and music. As a Catholic school, religious education is both an important part of the curriculum and an essential component of all that shapes our identity as a faith community.
