Skye Primary School 's purpose is to build a community of effective life-long learners who are informed, motivated and productive members of the local and global community. Our students are supported and challenged to their full potential to achieve excellence in Literacy and Numeracy with an increasing focus on Personalised Student Learning. Skye Primary School has well appointed classroom facilities throughout, with newly state of the art classroom buildings for both our 3/4 and 5/6 areas. We have a high focus on building Information and Communication Technology throughout our school from prep to grade 6. Our 39 staff comprises of 30 teaching staff, which includes 6 part-time staff, 6 integration aides assisting nine .4 PSD students, 3 office staff and two principal class members. This year the school has employed additional support staff to fund a newly developed Literacy Support Program. Our specialist programs for 2011 include Art, Physical Education and Japanese. 2011 is our first year beginning our Student Net Book Program supporting our school wide focus on building computer and information technology throughout our school. There are strong partnerships between parents and staff: on School Council, through our various committees supporting School Council and new school initiatives, as classroom helpers and through our Parents, Teachers and Friends Committee.
