Located in the picturesque Woronora River Valley, the school is the heart of a vibrant community. Our students are drawn mainly from the Woronora River Valley with the majority of students walking to and from school, although a number of families live "up the track" which is only accessible by walking or via the river. This gives Woronora uniqueness. Our students share a common concern for the environment due to living in such close proximity to the river. At Woronora River we pride ourselves in the development of a school which strives to be inclusive of all, where special needs are catered for and our students are accepting of their peers. Students at Woronora River participate in learning activities rich in diversity and extra curricular activities that enhance their talents and interests. At Woronora River students participate in programs promoting a healthy lifestyle encouraging awareness of good nutrition, physical activity and promoting sporting skills. Students stop daily for "Crunch and Sip" - a time when students are encouraged to eat fruit or vegetables and drink water. Our school is involved in a variety of sporting programs with students participating in interschool competitions as well as athletics, swimming and cross country carnivals. Students each year take part in gymnastics and dance fitness activities. Students at Woronora River have a variety of leadership opportunities through our Peer Support program, Student Representative Council (SRC) and Sports House programs. The SRC is a very active student body who contribute regularly to the culture of our school. Proudly the SRC has for the past five years supported an Ethiopian foster child. Student welfare is highly valued by the school community and a comprehensive range of programs and initiatives is in place to ensure the safety and well being of all students, as well as to promote confidence and self-esteem.
