Cattai Public is a happy and safe rural school overlooking the Cattai Creek in a picturesque setting. Our classrooms are centred on teaching and learning activities. We have high but fair expectations for all students. We regularly achieve above average National Assessment test results in Literacy and Mathematics. Our students have access to a reading recovery teacher. Our students utilise the connected classroom suite for discussing lessons with other schools and conducting talking and listening activities. Our students also enjoy classrooms with interactive whiteboards, new computers including a specialised computer room with access to the internet and classes that allow for more individualised tuition. Our students regularly participate in academic competitions, debating, public speaking and sporting gala days. We offer the Active School Sports program which includes three 30 minute fitness sessions each week in a variety of activities including Cricket, Circus Skills, Soccer Rugby League, Netball, Gymnastics, and Athletics. Our school has a dedicated music teacher who teaches each Friday. We have upgraded our playground with rubber based Soft Fall and mini goalposts for students to use.
