Somerville House is a day and boarding school for girls, established in 1899. It is located in inner city Brisbane, two kilometres from the centre. The School is owned by the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association. Somerville House provides classes from Preparatory to Year 12, within three sub-schools - Junior (Years Prep to 6), Middle (Years 7 to 9), and Senior (Years 10 to 12). A new Junior School and Boarding House will be opened in January 2010. Somerville House educates girls and young women to enable them to develop Christian character, to achieve personal excellence in all fields of endeavour, and to fulfil the motto of Honour Before Honours.
