Coonamble High School's core belief is that students and staff will learn together in a respectful, caring environment to develop pride in ourselves and our community. We aim to ensure that all students exit the school with the knowledge, skills and values required to succeed in a world which is constantly changing. We operate as a comprehensive co-educational school within a rural context situated approximately 160 kilometres north west of Dubbo and are the focus of secondary education for the community. We enrol approximately 230 students, of whom 50% are Indigenous. The school is committed to providing a broad, high quality education for all students through a diverse, relevant curriculum and the focused allocation of human and financial resources to welfare, and to literacy and numeracy initiatives such as R2L, MCEETYA numeracy, PBL and NVCI which are designed to meet the needs of our students within our context. We have a strong commitment to academic excellence as well as offering a wider range of VET options. Currently we are forging stronger community links to develop business enterprise and apprenticeships. An energatic staff also offers a broad range of extracurricula options.
