Located close to Lake Wendouree in Ballarat, Pleasant Street Primary School is a P-6 school with 350 students. The school has 24 equivalent full time staff: 2 Principal class, 20 teachers and 5 Education Support staff. We aim to provide a nurturing and challenging environment that promotes enthusiasm for learning and prepares individuals to become reflective and valued members of society. The qualities that we value are respect, honesty, excellence, resilience and creativity. We are actively engaged in providing our students with a 21st century curriculum. Our strengths include providing learning depth and breadth to cater for diverse learning needs and to ensure everyone has the opportunity to experience success. We encourage the development of strong relationships to support social/emotional wellbeing. Our students participate in a variety of specialist programs including Physical Education, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, and Japanese. Our curriculum is enhanced by a variety of extra-curriculur activities including excursions and camps, special event days, sports programs, school performances, debating, international competitions and student leadership programs. During 2010, our school completed a Negotiated Review and we have developed a new Strategic Plan for 2011 - 2014.
