Port Neill is a small primary school set in an idyllic location on the Lower Eyre Peninsula coast. There is a friendly, family atmosphere in the school, and a strong and productive rapport between staff, students and parents. A high level of parental and student involvement in decision making is encouraged at all levels throughout the school. Port Neill Primary has enviable facilities and resources, with a 1:1 ratio of students to laptops, a wireless broadband network, and interactive whiteboard technology. Because of the low student to teacher ratio, early intervention to provide targeted assistance to all students is possible. This assists all students to achieve their full academic and social potential. The school participates in the Small Schools of Eyre Peninsula group which encourages leadership opportunities and broad social experience for students by holding leadership camps and other activities on a regular basis. A Christian pastoral care worker is employed part- time, and runs social skills and values programs for all students. Close ties are fostered with neighbouring pre-schools and area schools which are thirty minutes away by car.
