We are a culturally rich school community represented by thirty-five language groups with many families recently arrived in Australia. The school is the first community contact for many families, a responsibility and privilege we have great pride in undertaking. The school has been recognised for its success working with multicultural communities and as a school which provides expertise to other schools in working with those communities. The school vision is: 'for all of our students to achieve success through the implementation of a vibrant curriculum based on VELS with strong emphasis on English and Mathematics programs within the context of a school which is striving to be a community organisation'. These programs are supported by soundly researched methodology, with new technologies at the core of learning programs, as well as comprehensive pastoral programs. The school has excellent resources, particularly in literacy and numeracy, and a significant investment has been made in technology resources. The teaching staff is highly competent and engaged in ongoing professional learning, and the school support staff are committed to providing the best opportunities for students and families. The core values of Respect, Responsibility, Integrity and Optimism underpin all our actions and relationships. The school will undergo a major rebuilding program during 2011. 2012 will see staff well prepared to move into our state of the art learning spaces. The focus of our professional learning over recent years, has been working in collaborative learning spaces to cater for each child at their point of need.
