Kingsbury Primary has clearly defined values of Learning, Teamwork, Safety, Friendship and Respect. Our mission is for each student to become an independent, critical and co-operative learner. The school was established in 1960 to cater for the community along the Plenty Road corridor. The school has recently celebrated 50 years of quality education. Our current enrolment is 240 students. We serve the local and wider neighbourhoods as well as offering accredited study for international students connected with LaTrobe University. A large number of our students come with a language other than English and we cater to over 31 different nationalities. The school has 17 staff; This includes 1 principal, 16 teachers and 4 Education Support staff. Our students have the opportunity to access lessons in the Visual Arts, Sport and Physical Education, Performing Arts and LOTE. Information and Communication Technology is well supported by a 1:1 Student Netbook Program. During the previous year we reviewed our vision and mission, refreshed our logo, redefined our motto and published a "Graduate Profile". Our participation in the Northern Region’s 'Achievement Improvement Zone' project has enabled us to maintain our focus on building teaching and learning skills and improving student outcomes. The school is in the last phase of the current School Strategic Plan and as such we have clear improvement targets for Literacy and Numeracy that will provide all students with specific and measurable success. The buildings have been recently enhanced with the addition of a BER project.
