Lockrose State School is located in the Lockyer Valley west of Brisbane. The major town is Lowood, seventeen kilometres away. Upon graduation, Year 7 students predominately attend one of the three local high schools. The school began in 1905, the centre of a rural community. Services such as a shopping and medical centre have become more accessible in the last few years. The school services the Lockrose, Brightview and Regency Downs districts. The school is made up of three classes: Prep to Year 2; Years 2 to 4 and Years 5 to 7. The curriculum focuses on literacy and numeracy with integrated units of work that encompass other syllabus areas. We recognise that our students have individual learning needs and endeavour to know and understand our students in a caring environment. Their results are reported against the Queensland Essential Learnings.
