We are a small, isolated rural school with many positive attributes. We continue to work closely with the local secondary college, other district schools and community to improve student learning outcomes. We contribute to, and are developing a “lifelong” approach to learning in the Rainbow area to further sustain and enhance the educational, social and recreational opportunities in our community. Our mission is to develop enquiring minds, positive relationships, caring attitudes, risk taking in learning and a sense of achievement in every student. Values that underpin student learning are Honesty, Respect, Cooperation, Commitment, and Persistence. It is our shared belief that every child has the capacity to learn, given the appropriate time, support and resources. Children are individually supported to improve their learning and develop independent learning skills. We have achieved very good results and plan for further improvements in literacy with the implementation of programs that target explicit teaching. To improve the provision of education in Rainbow we will co-locate with Rainbow Secondary College in new facilities on the secondary site in Term2, 2011.
