Anakie Primary is committed to continuous improvement and strives for excellence in teaching and learning at every level. Anakie is a small rural school with two multi-age classess for its 42 students. Students were grouped into three classes for Literacy and Numeracy. There are 5.2 equivalent full-time staff at Anakie Primary: 1 Principal , 2.7 teachers and 1.6 Education Support Staff. We place empahisis on Literacy and Numeracy as our core business. Each and every student is known academically, socially and emotionally as an unique individual by all staff members. Our programs are designed to cater for the individual needs of a diverse range of students. Information and Communication Technology is embedded throughout the curriculum and the students benefit greatly from the high computer/student ratio. Interactive whiteboards are a feature of every classroom. Anakie Primary is able to offer camps for each year level from 3 - 6 and a full range of sporting opportunities through an assocation of rural schools across the Moorabool Valley. There is a strong partnership between parents and staff, with a high level of parent particpation on school council, as classroom helpers and an active Parents and Friends Association leading fundraising. Under construction is a new school building due for completion in mid 2011. It will feature 4 purpose built classrooms, large project space, outdoor learning areas supported by staff and admin areas. The design will be supportive of teaching and learning in the 21st century.
