Established in 1905, Lake Gwelup Primary School is located in a middle income suburb, 11 kilometres from the city of Perth. The school retains the rural atmosphere of a by gone market garden area with lush, well treed grounds. Lake Gwelup is proud of its strong academic record and extension programs it offers at school and district level, including academic extension, School of Instrumental Music, Junior and Senior Choirs, State and National Challenges in Maths, English, Science, and Tournament of Minds. We also offer online learning programs such as Mathletics and Lexile Reading for students to access from home. These programs are supported by our active and involved P&C. The school also has an Environmental Precinct consisting of vegetable gardens, recycling stations, a frog pond and a seedling nursery, encouraging students to reduce their environmental impact. The next few years will see the completion of a new school boasting state of the art facilities supporting our existing programs and allowing for many new initiatives. Lake Gwelup Primary School's population is increasing rapidly and with the new facilities will continue to be a dynamic and exciting place of learning.
