Booragoon Primary School is located approximately 20 minutes from the centre of Perth in the southern metropolitan suburb of Booragoon. Students attending the school are mainly from the suburbs of Booragoon and Alfred Cove. Established in 1967, buildings and grounds comprise three Primary Teaching Blocks and a Pre Primary Block. Kindergarten students attend at the offsite Kindergarten approximately a kilometre away on Kennedy Street. The school also makes extensive use of a new Multi Purpose Building which incorporates Visual Arts, Instrumental Music, a Multi Function Room and a fully automated Library. There is a focus on Visual Arts, Drama, LOTE (Japanese) and Music, all of which have specialist teacher tuition time. Significant funding has been allocated to support a focus on Information Communication Technologies (ICT) through increased access to digital technology including electronic whiteboards. The school has an innovative 'TELE' (Technology Enhanced Learning Environment) program for students in Years 4 and 5. This is supported by a Team Approach to curriculum delivery for these classes with a focus on '1-1' computer access to support its 'anywhere, anytime' philosophy.
