South Perth Primary School boasts a proud history of education in Western Australia since 1898. It is centrally placed in the South Perth community, near shopping centres, the Perth Zoo and a few hundred metres from the Swan River, with views across to the central business district of Perth. Residences range from luxury apartments on the river, to modern homes on rezoned blocks and original Californian bungalows built in the 1930s. South Perth Primary School has a diverse range of students from 20 different language backgrounds. Students from the Philippines, India and Japan are significant in the school population. The school caters for students from Pre Primary to Year 7. The school has a library, a school hall that is used for assemblies and is hired out to community users, and an Out of School Care Centre within its grounds. The South Perth Community Kindergarten is offsite. The school has a strong values program, participates in environmentally friendly projects and provides a wide range of extra curricula activities in the Arts and Physical Education.
