In 2010 Yarrambat Primary School continued towards our vision of supporting children to meet life’s challenges with the confidence to succeed. In line with the Northern Metropolitan Region’s “Powerful Learning” agenda our school focused on ensuring that all students achieve their optimum outcomes in Literacy and Numeracy whilst also maintaining a high level of Curiosity towards the world in which we live. The current Strategic Plan focuses on improving numeracy learning, improving student engagement by embedding inquiry learning and developing improved internal transition practices and programs. In 2011, current enrolment is 424 students. The school structure is based around the 4 levels of the Victorian Learning Standards (Prep, Junior School, Middle School and Upper School). There are 19 grades across the school and each area works together to form a Professional Learning Team. These PLT’s foster a strong professional practice and enable students’ needs to be well catered for at all times. Yarrambat Primary School has also continued to deliver an extensive range of specialist and additional programs to support our strategic focus. Specialist programs include Art, Music, Physical Education and LOTE (Italian). Other programs such as a Year 6 Leadership Program, Student Voice Team, Boys Education Program, Frequent Oral Reading Program and participation in a range of research projects such as ICT and Assessment & Reporting trials ensure that a rich array of opportunities are presented to
