The Lake Joondalup Baptist College (LJBC) is a Kindergarten to Year 12 coeducational College, located in Perth’s northern suburbs. LJBC was established in 1990 to provide a high standard of education within the context of the Christian faith. Staff members of the College are committed Christians involved in their local churches in a variety of denominations; however, students entering the College are not required to have an association with the Christian faith. LJBC has an enrolment of 456 Primary children (Kindergarten to Year 6), around 860 Secondary students (Years 7 to 12) and is registered to accept Full Fee Paying Overseas Students. LJBC is highly regarded in the local and educational community because of the quality of its progressive curriculum. The College is well advanced in its implementation of the Australian Curriculum. LJBC’s Junior Primary program (Kindergarten to Year 3) builds a strong educational foundation, with an emphasis on enriching activities, literacy and numeracy. In the Upper Primary program (Years 4 to 6), children study interesting and challenging thematic units of work which integrate many of the Learning Areas, with literacy and numeracy continuing to underpin student learning. The excellent Lower Secondary Curriculum prepares Year 7, 8 and 9 students for the academic challenge and rigour of the senior years. A broad curriculum is designed to maximise student aspirations and academic choice as they progress through the Secondary School. Senior Secondary students have access to outstanding academic programs, as well as to quality practical and vocational education and training courses.
