Our Lady of Good Counsel (OLGC) is a Catholic co-educational primary school in the eastern suburb of Deepdene, Melbourne. Our Lady of Good Counsel enrols approximately 350 students. The school was established in 1924 by the FJC sisters and maintains a strong commitment to 'Developing the potential of each child and fostering the gospel values through the nurturing of mind, body and soul'. We take seriously our responsibility for catering for the individual learner. OLGC provides many opportunities for young people to participate in a wide range of activities. These activities range from instrumental music programs through to participation in 'Tournament of the Minds' as well as ensuring the VELS curriculum is met. The school has modern facilities which include a new ICT room and library, as well as 15 bright and vibrant classrooms. Within these classrooms the latest technologies are used to help enhance the students' learning. They include laptop computers and interactive whiteboards. OLGC is highly regarded within and outside of the school community. The school provides many opportunities for families to be involved in the life of both the school and parish.
