Southern Christian College is a co-educational, faith-based Christian school of approx 140 students from Kindy to Year 10 and is affiliated with Christian Schools Australia. Our educational programs aim to support the best possible student learning outcomes in all areas, with a rich engagement with 21st century learning technologies across the school. In our weekly Primary School program, we employ specialist teachers in Music, Speech and Drama, Graphic Art, Physical Education and Indonesian right down to Prep. All these programs follow through into our rich secondary options program. This includes Speech and Drama, Film School and Audio Design, Automotive Studies, Home Economics, Photography, Art, Materials Design and Technology, Sculpture and itinerant Music. Music and Indonesian are compulsory to year 10. We utilise Digital Whiteboards in each class from Prep to year 4 (to year 10 in 2010), and a 1 laptop per student program (Apple) from years 5 to year 10. As a small school, which serves students with a wide range of educational levels and needs, from a statistical viewpoint, average scores will often not meaningfully reflect learning outcomes.
