Lakelands Public School is a community school with a proud history in the Dapto area, after celebrating our 50th year in 2011. Our caring, professional teachers are dedicated to achieving quality outcomes for all children in all areas with each child learning to accept responsibility for their actions and learning. Lakelands provides excellent learning programs, happy experiences and wide-ranging opportunities for all students.Our relaxed and supportive learning environment, which embraces the five C's of Citizenship - Care, Courtesy, Consideration, Commitment and Co-operation - enable members of our school to participate successfully in all aspects of schooling to the best of their ability.The school is sited on eight hectares of picturesque land surrounded by residential blocks. The large, leafy, natural environment contributes to the welcoming culture of our school. We have state of the art equipment including Interactive Whiteboards in all classrooms and Video Conferencing facilities. All classrooms have been refurbished last year. The recently enhanced playground includes new climbing equipment, sandpit, toy-car play area, netball hardcourt, COLA, large grassed and shaded sections, giant chess board, vegetable garden and a quiet passive area with seating. These engage, involve and accomodate the different interests of children. We promote and maintain strong community links via an active Parent and Citizens Association and extensive involvement with other schools in the Dapto Learning Community. These close co-operative connections between schools assist Kindergarten and High School transition as well as enabling the sharing of ideas and resources.Our student leadership programs encourage individual and civic responsibility.
