Mount Barker South Primary School offers a modern, dynamic and inclusive learning program which aims to prepare all students for success in the 21st Century. We encourage our children to become independent thinkers and decision makers who can advocate for the world around them. Students are active participants in the community through Kiwanis kids and leadership forums. We achieves our goals by having a quality focus on literacy, numeracy, science, student service and wellbeing. Some unique features of the school are our strategic ‘science and reading for learning literacy’ intervention approaches to whole-school engagement. With a high level of information and communications technology that includes interactive whiteboards, wireless laptops and other supporting digital technologies, students are empowered to be active and balanced citizens. The school motto, ‘A learning community working happily together in a safe and caring environment’ underpins our school values of respect, excellence, acceptance, cooperation and honesty. Extra curricular activities include an active after school R-7 program, Pulse Music and a school choir. Sporting achievements include winning the Hills swimming Courier Cup and Young Athlete of the Year. The school proudly hosts the Regional 2 Special Classes who are strongly aligned across the school into all learning programs.
