Through community partnerships and a belief that all children are capable of success, our school commits to foster each child’s unique potential. We promote the values of doing your best, fair go, generosity, and respect. Our school offers a wealth of cultural and social experiences and caters to families from diverse social backgrounds. We are proud to host two dedicated regional special classes for children with a range of special needs and disabilities as well as the Regional New Arrivals program. One New Arrivals class is based at the Mt Gambier High School. Our bilingual support officers and Aboriginal community education officer support our Indigenous students and humanitarian refugees. We aim for academic excellence through innovative literacy and numeracy programs, with extensive intervention opportunities to encourage an ‘I can do’ attitude. We engage all learners through experiences beyond school boundaries, with the school’s own bus constantly on the road. All students participate in specialist PE and music. From 2012 all students will learn Italian. All children participate in instrumental music including dance and public performances. Regular Active After School programs, out of school hours sports and Pedal Prix programs develop children’s physical and emotional wellbeing. Our spacious grounds include a Landcare area that provides opportunities for environmental awareness, a garden and mini farm providing positive experiences for play times and class lessons. A wellbeing team looks after student’s emotional needs with support from a counsellor available for families and students.
