Spring Head Lutheran School is a small, rural school located in the beautiful Onkaparinga Valley, in the heart of the Adelaide Hills. It is a co-educational, systemic school of the Lutheran Church and has been inspiring and teaching children from Reception to Year 7 for over 150 years. Spring Head aims to equip students for life in a changing and challenging global society. We have a comprehensive academic program with a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy. Our curriculum promotes student inquiry and the development of critical thinking skills. A commitment to inquiry based teaching and learning underpins all curriculum areas. Students are inspired to use their learning to become well informed citizens committed to creating a better more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. The school has a strong music program with bands, choirs and hand bells, a specialist physical education teacher, a developing environmental and rural education program and German as our LOTE subject. A safe and caring environment for students is paramount, with a strong pastoral care emphasis being evident throughout the school. This is greatly assisted by our very own Chaplain, a supportive Class Carer structure and nurturing Buddy system.
