Nerang State High School is located on the west of the Pacific Highway and services the hinterland as well the surrounding suburbs. The school opened in 1986 and is co-educational, offering Year Levels 8 to12 to a student enrolment of approximately 960 students. The school provides a broad curriculum to cater for students completing high level academic courses, including completing university subjects in their final year, others doing school based apprenticeships or traineeships and those who complete a course of vocational and non-authority subjects leading directly to the workforce. The COMETS program has students in Year 8 and 9 participating in a program of academic extension. Our 'League for Life' course has students in Year 9 and 10 involved in a program which partners with Titans NRL Club. The school also provides excellent and award winning opportunities for students in areas such the school musical, drama, swimming, athletics, sports, debating, public speaking, and our Concert and Stage Bands. We provide students with every opportunity to experience a well rounded and balanced education that prepares them to have the confidence and knowledge to succeed as young adults.
