At Berwick Primary School we provide a caring, vibrant and challenging learning environment that encourages students to achieve their personal best in order to become contributing members of the global community. Originally established in 1857 the school was relocated in 2003 to accommodate population growth. The school has a growing student population of 860 in a precinct that includes 5 other government schools and 3 nearby private schools. 2010 staff was comprised of 72 full time equivalent staff, made up of 3Principal class, 42.2 teachers and 16.8 education support. The building complex is modern and very functional, with flexible learning spaces. Our school is well resourced particularly in the area of ICT with computer ratios enabling students to effectively access and utilise digital information. Interactive whiteboards can be found in all shared learning spaces and a television studio is a feature of the school. The school also has a strong Arts program with a whole school production, JRock and Artist in Residence program. Specialist areas include ICT, Visual Arts, Music, Physical Education and LOTE (German). At Berwick Primary School our students are our number one priority and we work hard to provide a learning environment that maximises their learning potential, providing opportunities for success in all areas of the curriculum whilst ensuring their social and emotional wellbeing.
