At Pialba State School we get TANGLED in the WEB of LIFE: Through real-life and life-like experiences, we immerse students to optimise the gaining of the knowledge, skills and understanding of our place in the various environments of our world (Natural, Social, Personal) We DARE to sail BEYOND: We support a learning environment that challenges us to look for more and test our limits by regularly asking, 'How can we become better?' We encourage risk-taking to seek answers and to continually improve each other. We recognise the landmarks to BLAZE a TRAIL to the FUTURE: Learning from the past and present is valued and then utilised to apply ourselves more energetically to making a better future for ourselves and others. This involves setting achievable goals and implementing the smaller steps that work towards gradual success. The school also prides itself in the quality ICT information and communication technologies we have available to support our future thinking. We JOIN the BATTLE of the FITTEST: An environment exists that reinforces the willingness to become involved and join the learning process. It challenges us to improve our habits at work and at play. Team and individual sports are offered with regular training and competition opportunities. Academic and creative competitions are promoted and subsidised. Excellence in music, sport, academia and other areas is supported throughout by the school community (e.g. Drama performances, Concert Band, Sports and Health Dev. Class). We BECOME a SURVIVOR: We take every opportunity to stress becoming aware of reasonable risk-taking and having a willingness to be adaptable so we can better cope with our ever-changing futures. Learning new processes, technologies and problem solving skills by working together to build on each other's strengths is a priority.
