Darwin Middle School is co-located at Bullocky Point Education Precinct next to Darwin High School, close to Darwin's city centre. The school is surrounded by a wealth of educational experiences, such as the Northern Territory Museum and the Botanical Gardens. The student population comes from many different cultural backgrounds, with a large number of overseas students. Darwin Middle School operates under a philosophy of student centred and evidence based curriculum, aims to provide a challenging and innovative learning environment and prides itself on the excellence achieved by its students in a multitude of pathways, both academic and vocational. The school has a wide range of opportunities for middle school aged students with a strong emphasis on Maths, English, Science and Information and Communication Technology. Darwin Middle School aims to build positive and meaningful relationships within the school and the wider community. The school is committed to the development of lifelong learners who have the confidence and abilities necessary to face the challenges of a rapidly changing knowledge society. The school has its own student driven café in which they actively participate in hospitality studies and has the most extensive languages program of any middle school in the Territory.
