Wugularr School is approximately 110km southeast of Katherine in the community of Beswick. The population of the community is approximately 500. The community can be accessed all year round via road. There is no airstrip in Beswick; the nearest airstrip is in the community of Barunga 35km away. Wugularr School is part of the Katherine Group School. The school implements the Accelerated Literacy program and has in place enrolment and attendance initiatives. These initiatives include the employment of a Community Liaison Officer, who liaises with parents, carers and the community to improve daily attendance. Parents are also encouraged by open days at the school and students with good attendance are rewarded with prizes. Secondary students complete their studies through the NT Open Education Centre. The school has partnerships with other service providers in the community to promote skills, attendance and healthy lifestyles for students. Wugularr School also offers a breakfast program.
