Mount Evelyn Primary School provides a caring and supportive learning environment that ensures that every child is fully engaged in their learning and supported to develop the knowledge and skills needed for a rapidly changing world. Values of respect,caring and responsibility underpin our strong student welfare approach designed to ensure a safe, supportive and positive school climate. Literacy and numeracy are our core learning foci, however the school takes a holistic, developmental approach to learning, through which we also seek to ensure strong social and emotional development. Effective assessment for learning and rigorous use of data informs our personalised teaching and learning. Our teachers undertake continuous professional learning to enhance their skills. Our $9M school rebuild 2008-10 has created amazing,flexible new school buildings that support contemporary learning. Features include classrooms with interactive whiteboards, large adjoining shared learning and resource spaces, art and music centres, a media space, a Games Hall and a Discovery Centre to support Science and Technology learning. Sustainable design features including solar power and 170,000L of rain water tank storage. Enrichment and support programs are a key part of responding to individual student needs. The school has 29 equivalent full time staff including 2 Principal Class, 22 teachers and 5 education support staff.
