James Cook Primary School is situated in Endeavour Hills. The school was built in 1979. A high percentage of our school population of 277 students comes from diverse multicultural backgrounds. The Schools Family occupation Index is 0.67 and we have an increasing number of families who access Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA). Our school has a 30 year history of providing a quality education to students in a safe secure setting. We have high expectations of our students and encourage them to be the best they can be; respecting themselves, others and the environment in which they learn and play. We have developed strong partnerships with James Cook Kinder next door to the school and Endeavour Hills Secondary College. We have significant transition programs to assist students who enter and exit our school. Children, staff and families work together to create a harmonious environment. Our school structure is organised into teaching teams which correspond with the VELS levels. Specialist programs include physical education, ICT, Art and Music.Our school had 26.4equivalent full time staff: 2 principal class, 18.4 teachers and 8 aides. The school is being refurbished and each module is being transformed into a beautiful purposeful flexible learning space to enhance student learning in the 21st Century. We refer to ourselves as the James Cook family and are proud of our children and what they achieve.
