Kolbe Catholic College, Greenvale Lakes, is the newest addition to high quality Catholic secondary co-education provided in Melbourne. The 2010 Years 7-9 enrolment is 400 with a 2013 projected Years 7-12 enrolment of 1060. The College seeks to educate the whole person and integrate faith with the culture and life of a developing young person in Australian society; to practice and model the Catholic values taught in the school. The College is named after St Maximilian Kolbe. His legacy is a story of heroism, courage and self-sacrifice. Thus, we strive to create a joyous environment with faith, courage and compassion, where all who learn, and all who teach, can expand their minds and hearts in striving toward academic and personal excellence. Our approaches to pastoral care aim to build an environment which is safe, welcoming and conducive to learning, using restorative practices for fostering relationships. Master planning includes provision of state-of-the-art facilities for science, arts and technology and a multi-purpose centre. Such planning complements the existing buildings which cater for all aspects of the VELS curriculum.
