Steeped in our Catholic and Brigidine heritage, we have provided quality education for the families of northern Victoria and southern New South Wales since 1886. Our future-orientated programs and pathways advance young peoples' gifts and talents, by providing an exciting and challenging range of opportunities to develop spiritually, academically, emotionally and socially. Close links with the local community, businesses and training providers promote an engagement with the world that is flexible and enlivening. The College offers several specialist programs, and is especially renowned for a strong jazz program and a significant commitment to social justice. So that every student has access to a contemporary and real-world curriculum, all students at St Joseph's College have an individual Macbook laptop. The development of a "personalised curriculum" for each student is being realised to a greater extent each term. St Joseph's College is proud of its ongoing association with the local indigenous community and is actively committed to the promotion of dialogue and respect between all cultures. The Year 7 transition program offers students and families a variety of opportunities to gain an understanding of our community and develop relationships of support and encouragement, so that the move to secondary education is seamless and life-giving. St Joseph's has several pastoral care programs in effect and is currently undertaking a trial in a new approach to bullying behavior. This project is funded by an external body, and the St Joseph's College community is proud to have been recognised as a "best practice" school to undertake this program. We offer both VCE and VCAL, as well as a wide range of VET options, affording our students a myriad of post-school pathways.
