Ashwood College is committed to providing an engaging and stimulating learning environment which maximises individual potential and ensures students of all abilities are well equipped to meet the challenges of education, work and life. The College has 52 equivalent full time staff: 3 Principal class, 36 teachers and 13 Education Support Staff. The College is located in a diverse, rapidly changing social demographic and has experienced significant growth in our international program, largely at Years 10-12, including students primarily from China and Korea. We offer well resourced VCE and VCAL pathways programs with 2010 signifying the consolidation of a comprehensive review of the Year 7-12 Curriculum and the development of revitalised programs. The College built a $1.8million Performing Arts and Multi-Media Centre to support its strong Visual and Performing Arts Program and a $1.97million 21st Century Science Centre is due for completion mid 2011. A whole College rebuild through the Building Futures Program is well under way with construction due to commence late 2011. On completion of these projects, the College will have modern 21st Century facilities in which to deliver its newly developed, multifaceted curriculum focussed on teaching and learning skills to maximise student outcomes. The extensive grounds of Ashwood College which include a Wetlands area and facilities for a wide range of sporting activities such as: 12 netball, 3 tennis, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, cricket, football and soccer pitch, cater well for the needs of students.
