Numurkah Secondary College is a year 7 to 12 coeducational school situated in the town of Numurkah some 30km north of Shepparton in central Victoria. Our students are drawn from Numurkah itself and the surrounding townships and farms. Students come from a range of socio-economic backgrounds. We strive to provide programs that are innovative, challenging and relevant to the needs of our students. Dedication to academic excellence and vocational achievement goes hand in hand with individual care for each student at our College. As students progress through their six years of schooling with us we strive to have each one of them achieve their full potential, and find their individual pathway to future success. Working in partnership with parents and the community, provides an education climate which is conducive to each student achieving individual excellence. This allows us to live our school motto which is '‘not for one but for all'. The College places a strong emphasis on the overall wellbeing of our students. As a school, our focus is on primary prevention and early intervention as the most effective means of enhancing the resilience of young people. A whole school Restorative Practices Approach has been adopted, which involves the building of positive relationships and establishing a supportive environment that is fair, consistent and democratic. Numurkah Secondary College is entering the third year of our 2009 to 2012 Strategic Plan which encompasses our fundamental purpose of ensuring that each student has the knowledge, skills and personal qualities needed to succeed beyond schooling.
